Abstract

We demonstrate a simple all-optical wavelength conversion scheme with 0.7-dB polarization sensitivity, using cross-phase modulation in a circular-birefringence highly nonlinear fiber. Error-free pulsewidth-maintaining wavelength conversion of polarization-scrambled 160-Gb/s data is realized for the first time.
