Abstract

This paper presents the design of a 1.2V wide-band active-RC filter for wireless communication Receivers. The topology of this filter is the 5 th-order Chebyshev-II lowpass filter type. The 3dB bandwidth is 20MHz while the stopband attenuation larger than 45dB is obtained. For a single battery-powered system, the filter was designed to operate at 1.2V power supply. To compensate RC variations by variation of fabrication process, operating temperature and supply voltage, the tuning circuit is included on same chip. The simulation result of 3rd-order input intercept point (IIP3) is about 31dBm. The filter is fabricated in a 0.25-μm 1P5M standard CMOS technology and dissipates 55mA for a supply voltage of 1.2V.
