N2 - Among various types of ADCs, delta-sigma modulators (DSMs) have been widely adopted in a broad range of sensor applications that require high-resolution ADCs, including the Internet of Things (IoT), audio processing, and biomedical monitoring. Figure 1 (top) shows a comparison between continuous-time (CT) DSMs and discrete-time (DT) DSMs. Among these two architectures, the DT implementation offers several advantages, such as insensitivity to clock jitter and intersymbol interference (ISI), sampling frequency (Fs) scalability, and PVT robustness, all of which are challenging issues in their CT counterparts. Furthermore, the emergence of dynamic amplifiers has significantly improved the power efficiency of DT DSMs.
