Abstract

We propose a cellular automaton model that simulates a traffic flow with a junction. We include a 'form-one-lane' rule that decides which car moves ahead when two cars on two different lanes are in front of a junction. We present a fundamental diagram of the proposed model and car distribution examples. We also demonstrate that the proposed model is useful for predicting the real-world traffic flow with a junction.
