Abstract
A novel dinuclear boron compound, B2(O)Ph2(Meq)2·H2O·CH 2Cl2 (Ph = phenyl, Meq = 2-methyl-8-quinolinolate) was synthesized and characterized. After the investigation of several doping concentrations, the organic electroluminescent (EL) device ITO/PEDOT/PVK + 5 wt% B2(O)Ph2(Meq)2/LiF/Al (PEDOT = poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene), PVK = poly(N-vinylcarbazole)) was employed to investigate the EL properties. The EL device exhibits blue-green light with maximum luminance of 45 cd/m2 at 22 V.
