Abstract
Variable power sources have been rapidly increasing due to renewable energy policies. Along with this, curtailment issues, including both demand-side and technical approaches, are being reported in various power systems. Until recently, most curtailments were made through wind turbines, and it leads to the demand for a method for assigning the signal to each turbine. Several optimizing solutions for curtailment has been demonstrated in the commercialized wind farm. However, further grid-side consideration should be incorporated in those approaches. To comply with the order of the power system operator, it is necessary to properly reflect the loss of the distribution system or the available power of the wind turbine. In this paper, we propose a curtailment method to improve the accuracy of power supplied from the distribution network according to the curtailment order of the power system operator. The wind turbine at the nodes with higher power sensitivity has a higher effect on the power flow of the distribution system. Therefore, the proposed method considers power sensitivity and capacity compared to the conventional curtailment methods. We performed MATLAB simulations in order to compare with the generalized methods, as a result, it was verified that the accuracy was improved when the proposed method was applied.
