N2 - POI (Points of Interest) is utilized as core data for location reference, search, and spatial relationship definition in a variety of LBS (Location Based Services), including navigation. However, existing POI data models focus on basic location representation, which is not sufficiently adapted to the needs of modern navigation services. In particular, as multimodal transportation services are expanding and the navigation environment is expanding to indoor spaces, it is necessary to upgrade the existing POI data model. The proposed model in this study builds on the existing POI data model and proposes an extended POI data model from the perspective of navigation services. To validate the proposed model, this paper presents two utilization scenarios. The first one involves the enhancement of nearby search based on spatial relationships, and the second one involves the generation of customized routes based on different types of entrance and exit information. We demonstrate that the proposed extended POI data model can enhance the accuracy of existing navigation services and improve user experience. In future research, we will conduct specific studies on the newly proposed POI components, such as spatial relationships and examine their applicability in various LBS fields.
