Abstract

In this paper, the control of the inverter output current for the wireless power transfer system that responds to the load changes is presented. The wireless power transfer system is composed of the high frequency inverter for power conversion, power cable on the ground, and on-board pick-up to produce the power by electro motive force that reacts to the magnetic field of the power cable on the ground. It is necessary that high frequency should be employed for the inverter to achieve high transfer efficiency between power cable on the ground and onboard pick-up. Also, the inverter should control its output current actively in order to respond to the load changes of the system. It is possible to implement the active control of the output current by sensing the input current of the inverter that changes according to the load changes of the system.
