Abstract
Presented is an antenna system for microwave non-invasive hyperthermia lipolysis. The antenna system consists of a circular waveguide antenna radiating electromagnetic waves, an AlN (aluminium nitride) radome, and a heatsink. The AlN radome with the heatsink helps to extract heat from the skin so that the skin temperature does not rise during hyperthermia lipolysis. The antenna was designed to be operated with TE21 mode to maintain uniform temperature over a wide area as much as possible in subcutaneous fat. The usability of the proposed system was verified by performing numerical simulation and rat hyperthermia lipolysis experiments.
