Abstract

The Brillouin gain coefficient of a 1.16-m-long Bismuth Oxide-based photonic crystal fiber is measured by using a beat lock-in probe detection scheme to overcome the limitation caused by considerable pump beam back-reflection at splicing points. gB is found to be ~4x10-11 m/W.
