Abstract

We experimentally demonstrate a compact, practical, self-contained continuous-wave supercontinuum laser based on the addition of a highly nonlinear fiber inside the Er/Yb-codoped fiber ring resonator clad-pumped by low-cost multi-mode 975 nm laser diodes. A supercontinuum of a bandwidth larger than 470 nm is readily achieved.
