Abstract

We experimentally demonstrate a compact, practical, self-contained continuous-wave supercontinuum laser based on the addition of a highly nonlinear fiber inside the double clad Er/Yb-codoped fiber ring resonator. A supercontinuum of a bandwidth larger than 470 nm is readily achieved with low-cost multi-mode 975 nm laser diodes.
