Abstract

Controllable capture of Au nano-particles is successfully carried out by AC dielectrophoresis. AC capture shows better results than DC capture in controlling the number of nano-particles captured in the gap. It is found that AC capture is possible in a wide range of capture parameters, but it is difficult to find the actual time point of capture by monitoring the current. Finally, the current-voltage characteristics measured from those devices at room temperature exhibit almost linear behavior.
