Development of signal control strategy in the ubiquitous environment and evaluation ITS efficiency

Abstract

Recently, as the ubiquitous environment has diffused, application of the technique is attempted in the field of traffic operation & management. Therefore we have to develop data collection systems and signal control strategies that are suitable in the Ubiquitous environment. This paper conducted a study on the Ubiquitous Sensor Network (USN) signal control strategy using wireless communication network between individual vehicles and signal-control system. To estimate effect of the USN signal control, the tests were practiced using the PARAMICS API's simulation. The simulation produced results that the USN signal control is more effective than other signal control methods.
