Abstract
A simple method for generating inflow conditions for turbulent boundary layers in a Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) closure is presented. A composite profile was obtained by forming a weighted average of the inner and outer profiles. The mean velocity profile was reproduced well by using the experimental integral parameters. The inflow conditions of k and ε were obtained by solving the k-ε equations with the aforestated mean velocity profile.
