Abstract

As social infrastructures including bridges require relatively high initial costs and long service lives, the systematic feasibility study is highly recommended at the early phase of projects. This study performs a life cycle cost analysis (LCCA) focused on the bridge superstructures. A cost breakdown structure was developed and also the data required for analysis such as analysis periods and unit costs, are collected. Recently, an on-going railroad bridge project was applied for LCCA as a case study.
