Abstract

This paper proposes a new form of watermarking, "meta-fragile", for use in wireless multimedia services. It is a basically semi-fragile watermarking scheme, and it adds robustness to wireless packet error conditions, i.e. channel error, delay, and jitter. It introduces: (1) a method of classifying multimedia information according to certain criteria, considering not only simple channel errors, but also delays or jitter occurring in wireless packet channels; (2) inserting a watermark for each individual packet. This method has the advantage of being able to allow packets to meet a desired level of accuracy even when we get only partial watermarked image data as packet delay or jitter occurs.
