Abstract
A novel orthogonal multiplexing of WDM channels to increase the spectral efficiency and to reduce wavelength interaction and linear crostalk was proposed and experimentally validated. As such, the proposed orthogonal multiplexing requires a precise Sinc-function spectral shape which can be obtained by SSFBG technology. The results showed that a significant reduction of the interchannel linear crosstalk penalty compared to conventional Gaussian RZ modulation.
