Abstract

A photonic microwave transversal filter, whose passband frequency can be dynamically tuned with a single passband characteristic, is numerically and experimentally studied. Excellent frequency tuning resolution is obtained by using the differential group delay (DGD) device. The RF frequency tuning was demonstrated in a range from 1 to 12.5 GHZ with 1.16 MHz tuning resolution. The Q-factor was estimated ∼71 for the maximum.
