Abstract

Improved method for generating waves in elliptic modified mild-slope equation (MMSE) is described. After recasting MMSE into the form of a pair of hyperbolic first order equations, we solved this system with added mass in continuity equation using Green functions, the solution of which reveals the relationship between the source amplitude and surface wave characteristics. We test the model for generation of desired incident waves in an annular entrance channel. We also compare model results with available experiment data. The agreement between numerical and analytical solution is remarkable
