OSNR monitoring technique using polarization-nulling method

Abstract

A simple technique that can be used to monitor the optical signal-to-noise ratios (OSNRs) of wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) signals automatically is presented. The accuracy of this technique is shown to be better than 0.6 dB, regardless of bit rates.
