Abstract

The Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) and topology optimization techniques are used for the two dimensional inverse scattering problems in TM case, which are to reconstruct shapes and material distributions of unknown dielectric cylinders. Using topology optimization and Born iterative method, the sensitivity information is evaluated, which is employed in a gradient-based optimization algorithm. The total variation (TV) scheme, one of the regularization methods, is used to enhance the quality of the reconstructed shape.
