Abstract

The reduction of polarization-mode dispersion (PMD) impairments was performed. The automatic tracking of decision threshold in receiver was used for the reduction purpose. It was found that this technique could minimize the PMD-induced power penalty of return-to-zero (RZ) signal to 0.2 dB even when the DGD were as large as 40 ps.
