Abstract
The robustness of link restoration algorithms using multiple ring-covers for mesh networks, concentrating on the effects of the number of backup cycles on the robustness, was discussed. The trade-off between the capacity overhead and the robustness of each restoration group were presented. The analysis showed that multi-level reliability services according to priorities or quality of service (QoS) requirements of traffic were feasible using multiple ring-covers.
