Abstract

A novel sensor using a single fiber Bragg grating with erbium-doped fiber amplifier is demonstrated. The sensor can simultaneously measure strain and temperature by measuring both transmitted power and wavelength shift. It operates over wide measurement ranges for dynamic strain and temperature with a high accuracy.
