Abstract

Subway noise level is specified by subway standard specification of the Construction and Transportation Ministry(1998). It is prescribed about the design guide about noise level of railcar's surrounding environment but isn't included the outside of the railcar such as platform or station. Therefore, this research wishes to clear quantitative relation with noise in urban railroad station or platform and regular employee's reaction or user's reaction as basic research to propose some urban railroad noise standard. Final objective of this research is derivation of dose-response relationship for the people who exposed to the noise at subway platform and the employee's office of the subway station. For the accomplishment of this research's final objective, two main methods will be used. 1. Jury test : Quantitative relation deduction of subjective response for the noise level exposed by urban railroad (dose-response relationship). 2. Questionnaire survey : In comparison with Jury test, it is impossible to control the noise level freely but possible to investigate the response for the people who exposed to the urban railroad noise in real situation. So the results from this method can be used for the comparison and complement for the Jury test's results.
