Abstract

In this paper, a 200W-class heating system applied with Induction Heating (IH) technology, which is a high-efficiency heating technology, and resonant inverter to reduce power consumption, were designed to replace existing heating system that used a heating wire to eliminate snow or ice in railway turnouts. The Multi-Physics (Electric circuit-Electromagnetic field-Thermal) analysis method was used for analysis of the Induction Heating System, which was found to be an improvement over the existing system.
