Abstract
A possible structural transition accompanying the substitution of a small amount of Ce and the reduction of oxygen was investigated by observing the convergent beam electron diffraction (CBED) patterns with a transmission electron microscope. Three different samples of Nd2CuO4, Nd1.85Ce0.15CuO4 and Nd1.85Ce0.15CuO3.965, which were prepared by solid-state sintering, were observed. Experimental higher-order Laue zone (HOLZ) lines of these samples were compared with those plotted by a simulation. The symmetry and the lattice parameters of Nd1.85Ce0.15CuO4.0 were determined.
