Abstract
Carcinogenesis involves DNA methylation, a primary alteration preceding genetic mutation. Abnormal methylation is common in cancer cells. Terahertz radiation enables direct observation of methylation using spectroscopy and significant demethylation using resonant irradiation, offering a novel optical method for cancer detection, control, and epigenetic therapy.
