The decomposition reaction of YBa2Cu3O7-x in hydrogen reduction

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

In the present study the maximum oxygen contents of the superconducting oxides, YBa2Cu3O7-x have been determined by the thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). Decomposition reactions in hydrogen atmosphere were also determined by the X-ray diffraction analysis, especially by considering the several inflections exhibited in the TGA curve of YBa2Cu3O7-x in hydrogen reduction to 950°C. Particular decomposition reaction at the long plateau of 615-760°C has been identified as chemical reactions, Ba4Y2O7 → Ba2Y2O5 + 2BaO and 3BaCuO2 → Ba2Cu3O5 + BaOx without weight loss.
