Abstract

We demonstrate the use of an only 40-cm-long Bi2O3-based nonlinear fiber with g=1100 W-1.km-1 to obtain FWM-based wavelength conversion. Error-free conversion of 40-Gbit/s NRZ signals over ~10 nm is achieved without any SBS suppression scheme.
